Why are you requesting personal information?

  • Updated

When checking in with Shackle or in-person at a hotel, you will be asked to complete a registration card.

There are several reasons why hotels require guests to provide personal details in the registration card:

  1. Identification and Security: Hotels need to verify the identity of guests for security reasons and to ensure that the person checking in matches the name on the reservation.
  2. Legal Requirements: Hotels often have legal obligations to collect certain guest information, such as for tax purposes or compliance with local regulations.
  3. Contact Information: Hotels need guests' contact information in case they need to reach them during their stay, for example, in the event of an emergency or to communicate important information about their reservation.
  4. Payment and Billing: Personal details are also necessary for billing purposes, including charging for the room and any additional services used during the stay.

We understand the importance of data privacy and so your details are only ever shared directly with the hotel.
